Dedicated to the conservation, research, and propagation of Hawaii's native seahorses — protecting the ocean ecosystems that make the Hawaiian Islands extraordinary.
The Seahorse Hawaii Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are dedicated to the conservation, scientific research, and sustainable propagation of Hawaii's unique native seahorse species — the Hawaiian smooth seahorse (Hippocampus kuda).
Hawaii's seahorses face significant threats from habitat destruction, pollution, and the aquarium trade. Our foundation works to reverse these trends through hands-on conservation programs, public education, and scientific research that informs policy and practice.
To conserve and restore Hawaii's native seahorse populations through research, propagation, and community education.
Thriving seahorse populations in Hawaii's reefs and a community that values and protects its marine heritage.

Conducting rigorous scientific studies on seahorse biology, behavior, and population dynamics to guide conservation strategies.
Breeding seahorses in controlled environments to supplement wild populations and reduce pressure on natural habitats.
Restoring seagrass beds and coral reef habitats that seahorses depend on for survival and reproduction.
School programs, tours, and community outreach to raise awareness about Hawaii's marine biodiversity and conservation needs.
Your donation directly funds our research, propagation programs, and habitat restoration efforts. Every dollar brings us closer to a future where Hawaii's seahorses thrive in healthy, protected oceans.
